Luther Finishes 8th at Wartburg Invite

Luther carded a two-day total of 689 and placed eighth at the Wartburg Invitational this weekend. The 14-team field played on the par 72, 5,814 yard Centennial Oaks Golf Club, a links style golf course located in Waverly, Sept. 8-9.
Gustavus Adolphus won the team title with a 626, followed by the University of St. Thomas at 638 and Illinois Wesleyan at 645.
Amy Ekland and Emily Looft were the top individual finishers for the Norse. Both players shot 170 and tied for 28th. Jenessa Bonikowske posted a 172 and Lindsay Thies shot 177. Ellen Miller completed Head Coach Dave Lester's five-person squad and shot 195. Krista Solie (189) and Andrea Pagh (206) played as individuals.
The Norse will host the Luther Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15. This 18-hole tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Oneota Golf and Country Club.
