Luther Finishes 8th at Wartburg Spring Invitational

The women's golf team kicked-off its spring schedule with an eighth place finish at the Wartburg Spring Invitational. This two-day tournament was played on the Par 72, 5,866 yard Centennial Oaks Golf Course in Waverly.
Eleven teams competed for the team title which Gustavus Adolphus captured with a 36-hole total of 648. Illinois Wesleyan was 18 strokes behind in second place carding a 666, while UW-Eau Claire was third at 672.
Luther posted a team total of 737, shooting 367 on day one and 370 on day two. Jenessa Bonikowske was Luther's team medallist finishing in a tie for 32nd place from the field of 58 golfers. Bonikowske shot rounds of 87-97 for a 184. Lindsey Thies and Emily Looft tied for 35th. Thies carded rounds of 88-98-186, while Looft shot rounds of 91-95-186. Krista Solie and Ellen Miller completed Luther's squad finishing 44th and 47th respectively. Solie shave off 10 strokes of her first round total shooting 101-91-192. Miller produced the greatest improvement on the squad, shooting 20 strokes better on day two. She carded a 107-87-194.
The Norse will return to action on April 27-28 when they will play in the Viterbo University Invitational.
