LUther defeated by eau claire 2-1

For the second time in as many days, Luther dropped a 2-1 decision here in Decorah. This afternoon, the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds scored twice in the second half en route to a come-from-behind victory.

Tailing 1-0 at halftime, the Blugolds picked up the pressure in the second half, out shooting the Norse 14-6, forcing goalkeeper Hannah Wright to make seven saves during this frame.

Luther took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when Kelsey Balk scored her fifth goal of the season assisted by Paige Ofstedahl (1).

Eau Claire evened the score in the 48th minute and knocked in the game winner at 61:03.

The loss was the third in a row for the Norse who are now 3-6-0. Eau Claire increased its mark to 6-2-1.

Luther will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 3 when it will travel to Cornell College for an Iowa Conference match that will begin at 1:00 p.m.
