Katee Whitney scored in the 109th minute breaking a 1-1 tie, leading Loras to a 2-1 overtime victory over the Norse here in Decorah this afternoon.

Whitney's goal was her second of the game as she gave the Duhawks a 1-0 lead 22 minutes into the match. Anna Grinde tied the score assisted by Kelsey Balk in the 81st minute. Grinde's goal was her second of the season.

The Duhawks, who entered this game having already secured the regular season title, increased their IIAC record to 8-0, 13-6 overall.

Luther had already secured a spot in the six-team Iowa Conference Tournament. The loss dropped Luther's league record to 4-4, 7-11-1 overall.

Box Score

The loss also hurt twice as much due to the fact that Dubuque defeated Cornell this afternoon 2-1. With the Spartans victory, they finish ahead of the Norse in the regular season standings by one point and secured the #4 seed of the tournament. Luther finished in fifth place and will travel to Dubuque for a first round tournament match. Be sure to check the web site as to when this match will be played.
