Norse Advance to Semifinals of IIAC Tournament - Defeat Dubuque 3-0

Luther scored three goals in less than three minutes, advancing to the semifinals of the Iowa Conference Tournament, after posting a 3-0 victory over Dubuque at Dubuque this evening.
Kelsey Balk (10) scored the game winner at 66:55, assisted by Emily Ironside and Andrea Martinson. Ironside (9) drove in Luther's second goal of the contest, assisted by Lisa Torgerson at 69:10. Twenty-eight second later, Anna Grinde (3) completed the scoring barrage unassisted at 69:38. Christina Soward posted her second shutout of the season making one save in each frame.
Luther dominated this match start to finish, out shooting the Spartans 13-3. The Norse also tallied eight corner kicks to the Spartans one. Nine of Luther's 13 shots were on goal.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 8-11-1, while Dubuque completed its season with a mark of 13-5-2.
The Norse will travel to Loras College for the semifinals of the IIAC Tournament and will face #1 seed Loras on Friday, Nov. 2 at 1:30 p.m. The winner of this match will play in the title match on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. The winner of the tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA III National Tournament.
