Norse - Pioneers Finish Tied After 110 Minutes

Luther and UW-Platteville played to a 2-2 double overtime time here in Decorah this evening. This was the third consecutive double overtime match the Norse have played and finished this stretch with a record of 1-1-1.
The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute. Ten minutes later, Anna Grinde tied the match with her first goal of the season assisted by Kelsey Balk. The Pioneers responded with a goal in the 38th minute, completing the first half leading 2-1. Just 18 seconds into the second frame, Balk knocked in her team leading ninth goal of the season, and what proved to be the final score of the evening.
Luther wrapped up its non-conference schedule tonight and will enter the final regular season league contest on Saturday, with an overall record of 7-10-1. Platteville, who snapped a four-match scoreless streak, is now 3-11-5.
Saturday, the Norse will host regular season Iowa Conference champions Loras College at 1:00 p.m.
