Luther Defeats UW-Whitewater 1-0

Luther snapped its three-match losing streak with an impressive 1-0 victory over UW-Whitewater here at home this evening. Emily Ironside scored her team best sixth goal of the year at 40:22 assisted by Andrea Martinson (2). Ironside's goal not only was the game winner, but also moved her into the eighth position on the all-time charts for career goals with 26.
Christina Soward faced just three shots on goal and made two great saves late in the contest en route to her first shutout of the season.
Luther is now 3-6-0 and Whitewater fell to 6-4-1. Luther will begin Iowa Conference play on Saturday at Buena Vista University. This match will begin at 2:00 p.m.
