Luther Scores 14 Runs in the Seventh - Defeats UW-Stout 19-3

Leading 5-3 entering the top half of the seventh inning, Luther exploded for 14 runs en route to a 19-3 victory over UW-Stout this afternoon in Menomonie, Wis.
Tami Magner started the inning with a single and ended the inning with a ground out to first, in what was her third trip to the plate. In the middle were seven walks, one hit-by-pitch and five hits, including a grand slam home run by Kayla Denner.
Denner's home run was her second of the game as she hit a solo shot in the third. Denner was 2-for-4 for the day, driving in five runs and scoring three times.
Magner, who also hit a solo home run in the third, was 4-for-5, drove in two rbi and scored four times. Magner's home run was her 13th of the season.
Shallyn Duffy (8-3) was credited with the victory. Duffy allowed three runs on five hits, struck out three and walked one. BreAnn VanDeer pitched the final three innings, allowed two hits, struck out four and walked two.
Game two of this scheduled double header was called due to rain and wet field conditions.
The win increased Luther's overall record to 24-7. UW-Stout fell to 7-16.
The Norse are scheduled to host UW-Eau Claire tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.
