The Norse returned to their winning ways after dropping two heartbreaking games to Simpson College yesterday, by sweeping the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles this afternoon in La Crosse 5-2, 3-2 (8).

In game one, Jackie Miller was 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs. She drove in a run in both the two-run second inning and three-run seventh. Tiffany Kruse also produced a multiple hit effort going 2-for-3 and scored twice.

Shallyn Duffy and Kim Lambert worked the circle allowing the Eagles to score twice on seven hits. Duffy did not allow a walk and struck out one in three innings of work, while Lambert fanned four and walked two in the final four frames.

In game two, Tami Magner scored the game winner in the top of the eighth, when Ashley Hoffman's single to left field was misplayed, allowing Magner to score from second base. Hoffman was 3-for-3 at the plate and also drew a walk.
