Norse Post Victories over UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater

The Norse increased their overall record to 5-0 after defeating both UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater by the identical score of 63-49 in Oshkosh. The Norse captured seven first place finishes out of 13 events.
Valerie Hoops (Sr., Freeport, Ill.) and Elissa Schmidt (Sr., Claremont, Minn./Owatonna) both tallied two first place finishes. Hoops won the 1,650 freestyle by 18 seconds (19:10.88) and 20 minutes later, edged teammate Kari Kolsrud (Fr., Cedar Rapids/Washington) by .02 seconds to claim first place in the 400 IM (5:01.71). Schmidt doubled in the 200 freestyle (2:01.04) and the 100 freestyle (56.03).
Also posting victories was Rachel Bruns (Fr. Albany, Minn.) in the 50 freestyle (26.04); Elise DesRoches (Fr., Plymouth, Minn./Maple Grove) in one-meter diving (230.30); and Amy Schneider (Jr., East Dubuque, Ill./Wahlert) in the 500 freestyle (5:36.69).
The Norse will return home for a dual meet with Morningside College this Saturday, Nov. 10. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
