luther defeats UW-whitewater 132-99

The Luther College swimming and diving team posted its third dual meet victory of the season this afternoon here in the Regents Center pool. The Norse defeated the Warhawks of UW-Whitewater 132-99, increasing their overall record to 3-1.
Elise DesRoches, who was named the Iowa Conference Performer of the Week the last two weeks, posted an NCAA III cut point total for 11 dives. DesRoches tallied a total of 410.09, winning both the voluntary and optional one-meter competitions today.
Rachel Bruns was apart of three first places finishes, two individual titles, and also as a member of the 400 freestyle relay team. Bruns won both the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle and swam the lead leg of the 400 free relay. Joining Bruns on the relay was Addison Choi, Bethany Nicoll and Kari Kolsrud. Choi also posted an individual first place finish in the 50 freestyle. Stephanie Drewes won the 200 IM and Sara Kessler placed first in the 200 backstroke.
The Warhawks 400 medley relay team set a new pool record of 4:14.27, breaking the old mark of 4:16.07 set Nov. 19, 2005 by a Luther foursome.
The Norse will return to action one week from today when they will travel to Gustavus Adolphus College for a triangular that will begin at Noon.
