Norse Post Five Outdoor Bests

The women's track and field team posted five outdoor bests at the Luther - Wartburg dual hosted by Luther this afternoon. Wartburg won the meet 114-71.
Posting season bests was Jamie Newman, Maia Yates, Hannah Huinker, Ericka Sell and Anna Schultz. Newman was clocked at 12.80 in the 100 meter dash en route to a third place finish. Maia Yates crossed the finish line in 26.54 in the 200 meters good for fifth place. Huinker was second in the 400 meters with a time of 60.23. Ericka Sell continued to run well in the 3,000 meters, posting a time of 10:34.83 and finishing third. Anna Schultz posted a distance of 34-9 1/2 and claimed a first place finish for the Norse in the triple jump.
Jess Jewell, Lauren Boleen and Kelsey Anderson also posted first place finishes. Jewell won both the discus and shot put with throws of 147-10 and 44-6 respectively. Boleen finished first in the javelin with a distance of 99-8 and Anderson won the pole vault with a height of 8-0.
This was the final tune-up for the Norse before the Iowa Conference Championships. Wartburg College will host the conference outdoor meet May 9-10.
