Luther Defeats Dubuque 3-0 in Conference Opener

Luther traveled to the University of Dubuque this evening and handed the Spartans a 3-0 loss in the conference opener for both teams. The Norse posted game scores of 30-25, 30-28 and 30-19.
Abby Lahr led the offensive attack with 14 kills. She was followed by Leah Sikora with nine and Ally Czechowicz with six. Molly Morrissey dished out 15 assists, while Heather Hoffman was credited with 10.
The victory was Luther's first conference win under first year head coach Jane Gibbs who has the Norse off to a 2-3 overall record. The victory also marked the first time a Luther team has posted a regular season conference win since Oct. 25, 2005 snapping a streak of nine consecutive league losses.
Luther returns to action this weekend when it will travel to the Jefferson's Sugar Loaf Classic hosted by St. Mary's University Sept. 7-8. Luther will begin play against host St. Mary's on Sept. 7 at 4:00 p.m.
