Luther finishes trip to UC-santa cruz 4-0

Luther wrapped up its four-day trip to the UC-Santa Cruz Tournament posting a 4-0 record thanks to victories over host Santa Cruz and Occidental this afternoon.
The Norse needed five sets to defeat Santa Cruz posting set scores of 23-25, 25-13, 21-25, 25-16 and 15-4. Emily Cory paced the Norse with 19 kills, She was followed by Tiffany Kruse with 15 and Taylor Skoglund with 11. Amanda Dietel dished out a 35 assists, while Grayce Hamlin led the team with 26 digs.
Four players reached double digit kill totals as Luther defeated Occidental 3-1. Set scores were 25-19, 26-24, 22-25 and 25-17. Kruse was credited with 17 kills. Cory was next with 16, followed by Emily Ellson with 11 and Skoglund with 10. Dietel and Taylor Hjerleid shared the duties at setter providing 37 and 12 assists respectively. Hamlin once again led the team with 23 digs.
The Norse will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 29 when they will host league leading Simpson College. This match will be video streamed and will begin at 7:30 p.m.
