Luther defeats waldorf - posts best record since 1993

The Luther College volleyball team posted a 3-1 victory over Waldorf College this evening here in the Regents Center. The Norse tallied set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 22-25 and 25-10.
Emily Cory and Taylor Skoglund paced the Norse offensive attack with 19 and 10 kills respectively. Luther recorded 53 kills during the four sets and an attack percentage of .326.
The Norse also did some damage at the net producing 11 blocks and holding the Warriors to an attack percentage of .021. Felicia Bridgers was credited with five block assists, while Cory and Emily Ellson both tallied four. Taylor Hjerleid dished out 39 assists. Grayce Hamlin led the defensive efforts with 28 digs.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 24-10, their best record since 1993, when the Norse posted a mark of 27-9. Waldorf is now 7-23.
Luther will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 3, when it will host Buena Vista University. If the Norse win this Iowa Conference match, they will secure the #2 seed for the six-team post season tournament that will be hosted by Simpson College Nov. 6-7.
The Buena Vista match will be video streamed beginning at 7:20 p.m.
